Draft — replace before publishing

This is a starting template, not legal advice. Anything in highlight must be filled in, and the whole document needs review against what your app actually does. Apple and Google both require a working privacy policy URL before review.

LabelLens is a mobile app that scans product barcodes and explains the ingredients. This page describes what data the app handles and what rights you have over it. The data controller is [your legal name and address], reachable at hello@labellens.app.

What we collect

Your camera

The camera is used to read barcodes on the device. Camera frames are not uploaded or stored. If you choose to photograph an ingredient panel to submit a missing product, that image is uploaded so we can add the product.

Why we process it

Account data and scan history are processed to provide the service you asked for (contract). Diagnostics, where collected, rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working. You can withdraw consent or object at any time by writing to us.

Who else handles it

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Account and scan history are kept while your account is open. Delete your account in the app and the associated data is removed within [30] days, except where we are legally required to keep records longer.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. Write to hello@labellens.app and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with the outcome, you can complain to your national supervisory authority — in Hungary, the NAIH.

Children

LabelLens is not directed at children under [13 / 16 — check the age in each market you launch in], and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
